Rafaela Veloso has been working with mathematical models for optimization under uncertainties since 2016.
She has previous experience as a Process Engineer in the oil and gas industry, and she subsequently specialized in Operations Research. Rafaela developed optimization models for humanitarian logistics during her time as a visiting researcher at the University of Edinburgh and at the Politecnico di Milano. She won an OR national hackaton in Brazil at the end of 2018 and was one of the 50 students in Latin America that were awarded a scholarship to attend an OR summer school promoted by IFORS in 2017.
Rafaela holds a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from the Federal University of Itajubá (UNIFEI) and she is currently a direct PhD candidate in Operational Research at the Technological Institute of Aeronautics (ITA).
