Tom Davis has practiced in the field of supply chain management for two decades. His particular areas of interest include forecasting, inventory management, service parts management, and the application of IT tools to these problems.
Tom’s work spans from high-volume consumer electronics at HP to low-volume, high-mix manufacturing at Philips Medical Systems. Tom led the first implementation of an Advanced Planning & Scheduling system at HP, and he subsequently deployed a service parts planning system at Philips. Most recently, Tom held the position of Director, Industrial Supply Chain Processes, at Philips.
A licensed Professional Engineer, Tom holds a patent for his work applying cellular manufacturing concepts to printed circuit assembly. He was a National Science Foundation graduate fellow and holds graduate degrees in mechanical engineering (MIT) and engineering management (Stanford). Tom’s publications include the landmark article “Effective Supply Chain Management” in the Sloan Management Review.
